Nepal is ranked 85th in the list of happiest countries in the world out of 149 countries and most happiest country in South Asia according to the recently published Happiness Report 2022.

Annual Happiness Index report uses six key variables to prepare happiness index like  income, healthy life expectancy, helpful nature  in times of trouble, generosity, freedom and trust, with the latter measured by the absence of corruption in business and government. This year more focus was given on effects of Covid-19 and how people around the world have fared.

Although COVID-19 has adversely affected Nepalese lifestyle and business. Employment problems, political instability are various burdens affecting the lifestyle of Nepalese people. Dispute of this all, Nepal has climbed five notches up as compared to last year’s World Happiness Index with 5.339 points out of 10.


Our neighbor country China ranks 82nd, three places above Nepal, while India ranked 163rd In Annual Happiness Index 2022.
